At 1 a.m., Coventry police were dispatched to complaints of a disturbance in The Burges, Coventry (26 February).
Police learned on arrival that a 40-year-old man had been stabbed and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. His conditions aren’t life-threatening or life-altering, so he’s been returned home to heal.
On suspicion of assault, a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man have been arrested and will be interviewed in due course.
Study of officers monitoring CCTV and conducting investigations in the local area is currently underway.
“We understand that the local community and people living in Coventry are very worried and upset, especially as this incident took place only a few hours after a 29-year-old man was stabbed on New Union Street,” said Detective Sergeant Aman Hundal, from force CID.
I’d like to tell them that we’re doing everything we can to locate those involved, and three suspects are now in police custody for the two accidents.
“The attacks are viewed as isolated events, and while there is no risk to the general population, our neighbourhood officers are out performing reassurance patrols and providing advice and assistance to residents in the surrounding area.”
