The wave coventry
The 25 metre Swimming and state of the art fun pool in Coventry opened in 2019. Sited in the heart of Coventry next to the historic landmark of Christchurch spire. Costs a total of £36.7m with sports England provided a £3m grant. The Wave Coventry is the only Swimming pool of it’s kind that resides within a city centre. During the design Westwood School pupils provide designs and feedback to the consulting team. The design is in two parts. The upper level circular drum the lower building. The slides hand from the roof trusses.
Rides on the wave coventry
There are six high octane slides.
Torrent – Riders of The Torrent must be brave and prepared to have the floor beneath them disappear plunging straight down to ground level.
Cyclone – A fast slide sending riders whirling around an open bowl before dropping them in to the pool below
Rapids – the best rode with a friend or family member as powerful jets hurl riders uphill before dropping them down through tight corners and tunnels. A roller-coaster on water
Cascasde – A fully enclosed slide sweeping riders through large sections of coloured light.
Crestar – Two giant spheres that use lighting effects and other surprises to delight sliders as they journey towards the bottom.
Riptide – Grab a tyre and then get launched at nearly 90 degree.
There is also a lazy rive, a wave pool, lifestyles fitness facilities, a Spa, 120 gym station, dance studio and squash courts at the wave Coventry.
