Malcolm Liggins

CBS is very saddened to let you know that our long term member, Treasurer and
sports reporter Malcolm Liggins died on 18th November 2020.

You may know that a few years ago he suffered from bowel cancer for
which he had a successful operation. Since then he had been just as
before with his commitment to CBS. Unfortunately he suddenly became ill
earlier this month when the cancer returned and he died peacefully in
George Elliot Hospital.

Malcolm had been a member of CBS since only a few months after it was
started by Martin Green and Ashley Thomas in September 1976 – so 43/44
years. Malcolm was an enthusiastic member throughout those years,
Treasurer of CBS for many of them, and I am sure will be best remembered
by our listeners for his reports and banter with Leo in each week’s
sports report in our Outlook programme.

He will be very much missed by everyone at CBS, and undoubtedly by many
Outlook listeners.
