Mark Hoof, a man who was fatally killed in Coventry on February 25, has been identified.
Just before 11.20am, police were called to Waveley Lane, where two people were stabbed.
Mark Hoof, 36, died a short time later, while a woman, 46, was taken to the hospital with stab wounds to her neck and leg, where she is in stable condition.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and is being held in jail while we investigate.
We’ve blocked off the scene and police are making investigations from house to house and from CCTV.
Det Insp Jim Mahon, from the homicide branch of the police, said: “It is a very horrific situation, but our investigations are progressing quickly.” We only have one man in custody and are not searching for someone else in connection with this case.
Both victims’ families are understandably saddened and have called for their privacy at this moment to be protected. Our diligent family liaison officers are helping them, and our thoughts are with them. As a matter of urgency, we continue to ask anyone with details to contact us and anyone with dash cam footage who was driving between 10.30am and 12.30pm around Waverley Lane, Northumberland Road and Holyhead Road in the Spon End area of Coventry.
