Coventry tip booking in tier 3

Yes it’s open, but trips need to be booked on the Coventry tip booking site.

The tip, located in Bar road, off London Road, is free to use for the residents  of Coventry (home waste only) . Identification, such as driving license should be taken. Re-cycling waste at the Coventry is currently at 69%

Current items accepted at the Coventry tip is as follows:

  • Aluminium cans
  • Batteries
  • Books
  • Carpet
  • Computers
  • Duvets and pillows 
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Fridge/freezer
  • Garden waste
  • Gas bottles
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Household and garden chemicals
  • Large electrical appliances 
  • Ovens
  • Mattresses
  • Paint
  • Paper/cardboard
  • Plasterboard
  • Scrap metal
  • Small electrical appliances 
  • Microwaves
  • Soil and rubble (6 bags max per day)
  • Television/monitor
  • Textiles & clothing
  • Tools
  • Used engine oil
  • Used tyres
  • Wood
  • Burnable non-recyclable waste
  • Landfilled non-recyclable waste

More information about the tip can be found on the Coventry Council website. The advise is to consider whether an item could be reused by others, promoted on the freecycle or taken to a charity shop before bringing it to the Coventry tip. With current Covid restrictions in place however seeking alternatives may be difficult and demand at the local tip may increase.

Vehicles permitted at the Coventry tip:

  • cars
  • a car with a small trailer in between 6ft (1.83m) and 9ft 6in (2.10m) in length including the tow bar
  • small van (cannot be towing a trailer) no taller than 6ft (1.83m)
  • single cab, double cab and king cab pick ups (cannot be towing a trailer)
  • any vehicle with 8 seats or more eg mini bus (cannot be towing a trailer)
  • 4 x 4 vehicles without rear side windows (cannot be towing a trailer)
  • 4 x 4 vehicles with rear side windows towing a trailer
  • campervans and campervan conversions

Vehicles not permitted at the Coventry tip:

  • transit type vans
  • any trailer over 2.10 metres (9ft 6in) including the tow bar
  • any vehicle in excess of the weight restriction (3.5 tonnes)
  • any vehicle in excess of the height restriction (6ft 9in or 2.05m)
  • transit, long wheel based vans, double or twin axle vans
  • vans towing a trailer
  • single cab, double cab, king cab pick ups towing a trailer
  • 4 x 4 vehicle without rear side windows towing a trailer
  • any vehicle with 8 seats or more towing a trailer
