Yes, I’ve got some up to date information about the macro society program. As most of you know, they meet monthly on the third Tuesday 1030 to 1230 at Barnes hospital flats in Hill Street and the January 15 meeting will be the AGM. And then Bernadette house is going to talk about Belgrade theatre activities. The February meeting on the 19th will be suit grewcock, who is the iconic liaison officer so I’m sure that would be a great interested she’s excellent Very good, very good
advocate for people we we like her immensely, right we’re going to move straight on to the announcements from the Resource Center, which is me
Now firstly, we’ve got some very sad news to report which is the death of Trudy tumor.
On the on the 30th of December. Now, Trudy was one of the original trustees of the Resource Center and was also with VISTA. And she’s been very well known in our community for a long time. She was a woman have tremendous energy and vivacity, despite her increasing age, right to the end of her long life, and she was 97 and a half. And she was an highly intelligent lady, highly, highly intelligent lady. And actually that that half was important, though, you know, she,
and I mean, I knew Trudy I’ve known trading what the whole time that I’ve been involved in the Resource Center. And she was funny, always interesting, tremendously wise, general fund of stories, many of which you wrote down and installments of her autobiography, which has been writing a long time. It has to be sad, though so many stories. I don’t think she really got past her 30s in terms of her autobiography, biography. He was a bit of a standing joke, really, but there’s so much
You know what she’s written is so interesting. I know that I will personally miss her very much, and Rosie and Trisha will to she gave them tremendous support is again. Yeah, no, she used to come in and collect the tape on a Thursday and have it sent all was ready for it. Yeah, absolutely. She was just a great friend and supporter generally of the of the Resource Center, and everybody who knew here
so Trudy’s funeral will take place on Friday the 18th of January at 2pm at the Oakley woods, crematorium there Lymington, that’s sort of the the committal as it were they doing it a little little backwards. So after that, at 3pm, there will be a Thanksgiving funeral service
at some barbers in Austin, which will be at 3pm followed by tea and cake in the church hall and I know I think it’ll be a pretty well attended a fair I should imagine she knew a lot of people and was loved by lots of people.
So moving on to something slightly different. We have our next theater trip organized. When I say organized, sort of organized,
we’re going down to the criterion on the to see the children. I hope so you weren’t going to be talking about this right now. Good. All right. Well, there we are. And the children is a play by Lucy Kirkwood to retired nuclear scientists in an isolated cottage by the sea as the world around them crumbles together. They’re going to live forever on yogurt in yoga until an old friend arrives with a frightening request. Lucy Coco it’s play the children premiered at the Royal Court London in 2016.
And it was named the best play at the 2018 Writers Guild Awards.
Some quotes about it slide gripping darkly funny This is sci fi kitted out with real people real dilemmas. Real scope it’s really good and it’s a time set.
So it’s got to be true grips, compulsively, genuinely disturbing leaves, in an abundance of ideas on which to ruminate. So it is not as I told the craft club today about children.
Now I did tell some of the three people who have already signed up to go that we’re going to go on the 30th which is a Wednesday but I can’t think that I discovered this evening because I’m going I’ve got a rehearsal that night for the next play.
