A new party supplies company in the West Midland is not actually new. “Get balloons printed” in Birmingham is returning to the industry it know best. The company originally set up two party and balloon companies in 2003.
Based then in Coventry “Small important people” provided children’s parties whilst “important occasions” provided balloon decoration and balloon printing services. These were aimed at the UK market. The companies were successful.
Following a move to Birmingham the owners split the company up and sold it on. The balloon printing equipment sold to colleges and training centres in Leeds. The foil balloons were sold to a balloon shop in Durham. Latex balloons were picked up by a growing market in Germany.
Even the non-tangible were sold. Balloonprint in Dublin purchased the website. They wanted a UK balloon printing website to complement their Irish established domain name. So why did the owners sell up. “We completed everything we wanted to achieve” says business partner Justin Sabado, “it felt right to sell up and go an do something different”.
But leaving the industry proved difficult. Too much for Justin who has returned with another new balloon printing company. “We are good a building businesses from scratch. Getting established on-line…” Justin continues “…the balloon industry is exciting and something that I cannot stay away from. Although we’ve started another balloon printing company, we are going to do things differently this time”.
But how different can a balloon printing business sell printed balloons?
The company says they are offering different balloons printing products not normally seen on other websites. Standard foil balloons with names added. Wedding balloons personalised with bride and groom names added. Birthday balloons personalised with individual names.
They will also focus on small print run balloon printing. But will this company be a success?Justin is confident it is. “We spend a lot of time on research. Researching what people are searching for. We found people are searching for personalised birthday balloons to be delivered in large number. It would make sense therefore to offer this. Research is key”. Only time will tell if it’s a success. With the experience and desire it’s looking good.
